Dear baby nuggets (that’s what Nana T calls you),
You’re a few days away from being 11 months. Someone asked how old you guys are the other day and I answered with “Almost a year!” And then I about fell over in shock. Feels like fake news, but it is oh so real!
Katherine: We’ve started to call you Kat Burglar sometimes. You help yourself to whatever you can get your hands on (and usually it goes in your mouth): your sisters pacifier even when you have your own, the remote control, daddy’s food, a Kleenex that you promptly tore up and also ate a little bit of, whatever Elizabeth is playing with, and especially whatever toy she MIGHT play with. You’re getting much better at playing nicely and laughing with your sister instead of climbing on top of her and pulling her hair. Now that she’s more mobile, she sometimes gives you a run for your money. I wonder if you’re competitive; that wouldn’t surprise me one bit! You’re also starting to be much more interested in being a copy-Kat: daddy tried to teach you “soooo big” and you didn’t care one lick. But once he changed it to “TOUCHDOWN” you were all about it (and just in time for the Super Bowl)! You like Mickey Mouse and Elmo, allllllll the food, chasing daddy, are cutting one tooth, and are soooooo close to walking!

Elizabeth: Once you figured out how to move, it’s been game on around here. You try so hard to keep up with your sister now! You laugh and giggle with her, and have learned to escape when you need to. Sometimes I wonder if you might be a little introverted. You definitely let everyone know when you’ve had enough. One of your favorite things to do is to stop and visit with every resident on our way to Grandpa Bart’s apartment. You’re not satisfied until you’ve put a smile on all of their faces. You love when your cousins come visit, and you snuggle up to Sebby and watch your favorite movie “Rio” with him. You love Cookie Monster, are currently on a food strike (I’m rolling my eyes at this), keep trying to pull yourself up on everything with about 50% success, and love to rub your face on soft blankets and your Bunny. You have zero interest in playing touchdown, but giggle like a goon when daddy plays “Where’s Elizabeth? There she is!” with you!

You girls light up our lives! Knock on all the wood everywhere, but when we go places, people often comment on how well behaved you are for your age! What a blessing to have two happy go lucky babies! You guys are going on a play date with mommy at the end of this week with looooots of little twins (and their siblings)! Hopefully this good behavior sticks around for that!

Love, Mommy (and Daddy!)
